It's that time of year again, holiday toy shopping.  If you are like me you try to find out about the toys that your kids MUST have.  I'm concerned with the safeft and best toys out there for age group.  These two sites make it easy for you to do just that!  Please check them out and I hope they help you out, maybe even give you idea for the children on your list you are at a loss as to what to buy!

· ToyInfo.org provides you with all the information you need to choose the right toys for your family. From toy safety facts to free downloadable play guides, this exciting new site is a one-stop resource for caregivers and parents to discover everything about toys and play.

· Toyawards.org lists the best toys of the year, as selected by toy industry experts. The site showcases the top toys nominated for the 2010 Toy of the Year Awards (TOTY), recognized as the “Oscars®” of the toy industry. Not only will you discover which toys the experts think are best, but for the first time, kids and parents can register for one (or more) of 12 prize packages, and can also vote for their favorite toys.

K'nex - Perfect Rainy Day Fun!

Thanks to Team Mom, I was able to connect with K'nex and it couldn't have come at a more perfect time, the day before school was closed due to the November Noreaster.

We got the word school was closed and A wanted to go straight to work on a design using K'nex.   She went thru the instructions, which is truely not needed because the imagination takes over, and choose the hot air balloon.  This kept her busy for most of the morning!  She was very careful finding the pieces, putting it together, then playing for hours with her ponies as they flew around in the balloon!

The next day, Daddy was called in to help build the creation, the ferris wheel.  Again, this kept them busy for a bit and provided even more time for play after it was done.

I have nothing bad to say about K'nex.  I just wish I had picked these up on my own earlier.  They would be a great Christmas gift for your own children or any in your life.

Consumer Reports Best Baby Products Giveaway - ENDED!

I personally felt breast was best when it came to my daughter however I was thankful that if we ever needed to formula was available to us.  We actually had a can of Target's formula in our pantry "just in case."  So I'm happy to pass on this information to my readers regarding store brand formula , money saving coupons and a great giveaway thanks to Team Mom.

According to the 10th edition Consumer Reports Best Baby Products, store-brand infant formula is as nutritious for babies ans nationally advertised brands.  Moms can save up to 50% by buying store brand!

Why this is timely news?
As of October, a new WIC program initiative designed to promote breastfeeding reduces infant subsidies by up to 26%; parents who previously had most of their formula paid for by WIC may now have to purchase formula on their own.

Here's what I can do for you!

Fiber One! Review and Giveaway! Ends 11/9/09

Recently I was asked by Fiber One to try out their Brown Sugar Cinnamon Toaster Pastries. I'm a bit leery when it comes to sweet pastries for breakfast but I was pleased that these were over powering! They also weren't what you would expect for a fiber product ie: didn't taste like the box they came from :)

They come in four great-tasting varieties that the whole family can enjoy,
including Blueberry, Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Chocolate Fudge and Strawberry. With
20% of your Daily Value of fiber (5 grams), you can enjoy a great-tasting
toaster pastry, while getting more of the fiber you need.

My Blog Spark and Fiber One sent me a 'Morning on the Go' pack that contained a Fiber One's Brown Sugar Cinnamon Toaster Pastry sample, blue lunch bag, thermal cup, and a blank planner and has offered one of my readers the same!

Here's what you need to do:

REQUIRED: What is your favorite Fiber One Product?

Chewbies Green Bunny Review

A few weeks ago my pup received a toy from Petprojekt .

Once I opened the box and my dachshund Vito saw the Green Bunny I couldn't get it off the cardboard fast enough. Once I was able to free it and had Vito sit for the toy he was allowed to play and play he did. It took me forever to get a good picture out of the deal and forget a video. There wasn't a way for my cheap camera to keep up with him!

From the website: Chewbies™ are fun and safe non-toxic toys for doggies of
all ages & size! Soft durable bodies all squeak and are decorated for some
serious fun! Your 4-legged friend will love playing with the soft and fluffy
plush tails! Collect 'em all!!! •Phthalate Free •BPA FREE

This toy kept my dog entertained for hours unfortunately the older dog whose mission in life is to destroy every squeaky toy in the world got a hold of it and promptly killed it. I'm sure if he was kept away Vito would still be playing with this today! I highly recommend this for your light to medium chewers! It will keep them busy and out of your hair!
